It is so good to be back at Elk Run this year! I have enjoyed meeting with the students again this week as we get the ball rolling. Working with the children is what I love to do!
I hope you all enjoyed a nice restful summer. I enjoyed the time I had to spend with my family. We were able to get up to the mountains quite a bit and enjoy nature. I also spent a bit of time this summer learning some new research based therapy techniques and programs and hope to use them with some of the students this year. I look forward to seeing how they work and seeing all of our speech students make progress this year. As we get things started, I just wanted to share the mother load of speech pathology resources. I will put the link by the rest of my speech pathology links on the Homework page as well. It is found on the Speech Room News Blog and Jenna Rayburn, a speech language pathologist, put a lot of time and effort putting this together. If you have some time, you can take a look and find articles, therapy materials, and other information of all sorts that you could use to help your child. I can't wait to dig in a little deeper and find some great ideas! Thank you Jenna! As always, I just want to remind you that working with your child at home is essential to their progress. Please take advantage of the resources provided. As soon as I figure out where we need to start with your child at the beginning of the year, I will start sending home homework with them as well. Start looking for that in the next couple of weeks. 2016-2017 is going to be a great year! I look forward to working with you all!
