Great Apps for Speech and Language Here are some fun apps to check out that you could use to help your child progress with his or her speech and language skills. I will only address apps I am familiar with and would recommend. Articulation Apps for Articulation can be a bit pricey. If you have a child who has many speech sound errors, however, they might be worth the investment. If you only have a sound or two, you may find some cheaper apps that target those sounds alone. Articulation Station - offers practice of speech sounds a the word, phrase and sentence levels Word Vault Essential this has different sounds in different positions of words. The essential version has no pictures, but does contain a wealth of words and is free! Little Stories for Speech Language & Literacy -Contains stories to practice with specific speech sounds. Allows for practice with comprehension of stories as well Speech Tutor Pro - Contains word lists and videos depicting correct lingual positions for different speech sounds Match 2 Say - provides practice of different sounds at the word and phrase levels while playing the matching game
Social Language All my go to Social Language apps are now null :( I'll put some here that I recently found, but have not yet used,and if you find any that you find useful, please let me know Conversation Therapy - This app helps your child get talking using attention grabbing conversation starters paired with engaging pictures Social Skills 5-app Bundle for Kids with Autism - Apps in bundle include Do It or Not?, Conversation Planner, Conversation Starters, Say It..Or Not, and Would You Rather? Fun :-) Language My Playhome School - Great app to work on following directions, learning location words, actions, pronouns and other school related vocabulary. Cookie Doodle-Another fun app to work on following directions and vocabulary. Shoe the Goose also makes other doodle games like Cake Doodle and Monster Truck Doodle that could be used as well. Choose your favorite doodle and go at it. Fizzy's Lunch Lab- Fun way to learn vocabulary, following directions, reasoning, classifying and sorting skills. Super Duper Inc- Super Duper inc is a company that specializes in providing materials for Speech Language Pathologists. They have a wealth of materials for practicing speech and language skills. They may have an app that targets the specific skills your student is working on. PropFun Pro - This is a photo filter app. I find it fun to use when working on descriptive vocabulary and grammar skills Who is it? Guess it!- Another fun app that I use to work on descriptive language and asking questions.
